A machine architecture that makes its own logic visible. The primary design task was the articulation into functional zones – legible, hierarchically clear, intuitively navigable for the operator. The architectural structuring simultaneously stabilises the overhanging core area with its sliding windows. The formal language at the transition between the cylindrical work area and the gate-shaped workpiece transfer zone references directly the rotating turned part and the adjacent cutting tool: the machine communicates its process through its form.
